ADHD Diagnosis Process for Children

Our child ADHD assessment is designed to be thorough, supportive, and family-focused — following NICE and HSA-approved guidance to ensure a reliable and compassionate evaluation.

Step 1 – Book Your Appointment
Begin by scheduling a time that works best for your family. We offer flexible appointments, including evenings and weekends, to fit around school and family life.

Step 2 – Initial Parent Consultation and Developmental History
The process begins with a detailed conversation with parents or carers, lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes. During this call, we gather information about your child’s early development, learning, behaviour, and any current concerns at home or school.

Step 3 – Teacher and Parent Questionnaires
Following the initial consultation, we send structured questionnaires to both parents and teachers. These help us understand your child’s behaviour and attention patterns across different settings — an essential part of the diagnostic process.

Step 4 – Face-to-Face Assessment and Feedback (Dublin Clinic)
Your child will then attend a face-to-face appointment at our Dublin clinic. During this session, we complete standardised observations and discuss the findings with you. A diagnosis will be made if appropriate, and clear next steps will be outlined.

All assessments follow NICE and HSA-accepted guidance, ensuring your child receives an accurate and professional evaluation.

After the diagnosis, we provide tailored recommendations, school-based strategies, and family support options to help your child thrive both academically and emotionally.

ADHD Diagnosis Process for Adults

Our adult ADHD assessment follows a structured, evidence-based pathway to ensure accuracy and support throughout the process.

Step 1 – Book Your Appointment
Begin by booking a time that suits your schedule — including evenings and weekends. We aim to make the process as convenient and accessible as possible.

Step 2 – Initial Neurodevelopmental History Call
Your journey starts with a comprehensive video consultation lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes. During this session, we’ll explore your background, current challenges, and how ADHD may be affecting different aspects of your life.

Step 3 – Questionnaires and Computerised Testing
Following the initial call, you may be asked to complete standardized questionnaires and a computerised assessment to provide further insights into your attention profile and executive functioning. These tools help build a fuller clinical picture and support an accurate diagnosis.

Step 4 – Face-to-Face Diagnostic Appointment (Dublin Clinic)
The final step involves a detailed in-person consultation at our Dublin clinic. Here, your clinician will discuss your results, provide a diagnosis if appropriate, and outline your next steps. Our assessments adhere to both NICE and HSA-accepted clinical guidance, ensuring you receive a thorough and compliant evaluation.

After your assessment, we’ll offer individualized recommendations and ongoing support to help you manage ADHD effectively and improve your wellbeing.
